Hougen's current matrix makes coolant, swivel, voltage, cutter-kit and magnet identity separate fields. A listing can be an exact HMD904 family product while still being the wrong configuration for a buyer who needs a coolant bottle, lateral alignment or 230V power.
Across the family, Hougen publishes a 7/16-to-1-1/2-inch annular diameter range, 2-inch cutting depth, 450 RPM motor and 3/4-inch interface for 12,000-Series or Copperhead cutters. Those shared numbers do not make the packages interchangeable.

Hougen specifies a 1-inch-wide by 3/4-inch-long swivel area and a one-stroke lock. That can help place the pilot after the magnetic base is attached, especially where repeated positioning is awkward. It does not change the cutter range, depth rating or requirement for an approved surface and safety restraint.
The standard machine is listed at 30 pounds and the swivel at 33 pounds. Compare that three-pound difference and the alignment need against actual work; do not treat swivel as a general performance upgrade or transfer the swivel magnet figures to the fixed base.

Hougen says every listed HMD904 drill includes a carrying case, pint of coolant, safety chain and hex wrenches. The 0904105 and 0904109 Fabricator's Kits add a 1/2-inch drill chuck, adapter and 12002 two-inch-depth cutter kit. A kit can fill real gaps or duplicate tooling for an established shop.
The retained catalog includes a basic HMD904, fixed-base Fabricator kit, HMD904S swivel machine and swivel Fabricator kit. Judge each offer as that configuration, not as a generic HMD904 price.
Permanent magnet is another branch, not an included feature
Part 0904122 uses a permanent magnet that Hougen says grips without electricity and has a footprint intended for pipe drilling without an adapter. Conventional HMD904 versions use the two-stage electromagnetic arrangement documented on the main page. Do not assign the permanent-magnet pipe statement to standard or swivel machines.
Stop the HMD904 comparison when the job requires holes above 1-1/2 inches or a lower spindle speed. That is the point to compare HMD905 rather than trying to buy those features through an HMD904 kit label.
