That thickness is only one mounting condition: material, flat contact, coating, curvature and restraint still have to agree with the manual.

S28MAG versus EVOMAG42: the diameter gate

Start with the largest finished hole on the drawing. A 7/8-inch schedule fits the S28MAG's diameter rating; a 1-3/8-inch requirement does not. The larger EVOMAG42 shares the S28MAG's listed 26-pound weight and magnet dimensions, so weight alone does not justify moving down to the smaller model. The S28MAG is 7/8 inch narrower in Evolution's published machine-width figures, which can matter only after the actual work envelope is measured.

If every confirmed hole fits the S28MAG, compare the exact drill, cutters, pilot hardware, fluid and delivery package rather than paying for unused diameter. If anticipated work—not a current drawing—is the only reason to move up, record which larger sizes are genuinely likely instead of treating possible future capacity as certain value.

• Choose S28MAG: all required annular holes are 1-1/8 inches or smaller.
• Choose EVOMAG42: at least one required annular hole is over 1-1/8 and no larger than 1-5/8 inches.

Confirm the current box contents before relying on twist-drill work. The 2-inch depth figure remains separate from diameter, and the published magnetic-adhesion figure is not a lifting capacity or permission to ignore the minimum plate and restraint rules.

• Stop if the largest annular hole exceeds 1-1/8 inches.
• Stop if the cutter or material requires a speed the single 450 RPM drive cannot supply.
• Stop if the surface cannot meet the manual's attachment and restraint requirements.
• Verify the exact retail package instead of assuming every image or accessory shown is included.
